Q: What is your refund policy if I cannot make the race?

A:  Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for any reason. All registration fees we collect go back into the race in to help cover items like medals, shirt, or bibs, traffic control, etc... A portion of each registration fee is also donated to one of our charitable partners.

Q: Online registration is closed; can I register on race day?

A:  The Kook Run does allow for limited race day registrations. Those limitations will depend on the number of pre-registered runners, and any limitations set on the event by the city of Encinitas, and the County of San Diego due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

 

Q: Will aid stations be provided, and what will be included at these aid stations?

A:  Yes, aid stations will be provided on the course and at the finish line. Course aid stations will include water, electrolytes, and some form of nutrition. Finish Line aid station will be a water station only.

Q: Are strollers allowed during the race?

A:  Absolutely. This is a family friendly event, and we encourage the little ones to join us.

​

Q: Are dogs allowed during the race?

A:  Yes, dogs are allowed ON LEASH only. For the safety of the dog and those people around, we encourage all runners with dogs to please start in the last corral in your registered race. 

​

Q: Can I bike, skateboard, rollerblade the racecourse?

A:  No wheels are allowed on course. Please leave your wheels at home. 

​

Q: Do you offer cash prizes for the winners?

A:  We offer a cash prize to the "ELITE" 10K runners only. All other 10K winners will receive age group category medals or prizes. 5K runners will be awarded with Top 3 overall Male and Female awards.

Q: Where is parking located for this event?

A:  Parking is available at the Encinitas Library, Encinitas City Hall, Encinitas Coaster Station, Moonlight Beach, or surface street parking on 2nd and 3rd street.

​

Q: What roads will be closed for this event?

A:  The Coast Highway 101 will be closed from Encinitas Blvd to Chesterfield on both the North and South-bound lanes, and the South-bound lanes from Chesterfield to Cardiff State Beach.

Q: Will gear check be provided?

A:  Unfortunately, we will not be offering a gear check at this event.

​

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade my registration?

A: Yes, we do allow for both. If you would like to upgrade your registration from the 5K to the 10K you will need to contact us at info@racesandiegollc.com. There is a $15 upgrade fee. If you would like to downgrade from the 10K to the 5K you can also email us. No refund on the difference will be awarded.
